A New Way to Enjoy Travel And Make Money
I started my career about 20 years ago in the travel industry. Since then I have been in international chain hotel, global travel agency, national tourism organization, world's 4th largest airline, global distribution system...etc. Well, I have covered most sectors in the travel industry. I love to travel and I want to enjoy travel and make money!!! This has been my dream!!!
I have started my career different from my classmates. After graduating, almost everyone joined the banking and finance industry. I wanted to be different and I was the odd one out when I did not follow the crowd. Everyone felt that I was putting my university degree to waste. Banking and finance was the key to wealth, not travel! They could not believe that one can enjoy travel and make money. They love to take vacation trips too but they would pay for it! That was the norm, correct?
I have since traveled to popular destinations in Asia, for example Batam, Bali in Indonesia, Bangkok, Chiangmai, Phuket in Thailand, Ho Chi Min, Saigon in Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, China. Besides, I was also given VVIP treatment in Australia, and not forgetting First Class travel in airline to North America!
I have to say that even though I was having great fun, I felt that something was missing. I could not travel on my own terms and time. I was working. It was not a vacation. I compared to the trips that I went with my family, it was different. I treasured and enjoyed those family trips more but they were too short. Those vacations were memorable not just for me but for all my siblings too!
When I started my own family, I started to enjoy my business trips less and less. I long to go on more trips with my kids and husband. Can I continue to enjoy travel and make money? That is, can I go for personal travel trips and still make money?
Six months ago, my travel industry colleagues and I found a new way to enjoy travel and make money. We found a way to participate in the You Economy through doing what we love.
